A Minecraft guardian farm involves using boats to transport guardians into lava, killing them to obtain items. Due to the size of guardians, the boat's position needs careful adjustment.
To maximize guardian spawn rates, creating tall water columns is effective. However, for larger farms, reducing the height of these columns can be beneficial.
While this farm is efficient, it has a drawback: only cooked cod can be obtained due to the use of lava.
This method involves using a boat to transport guardians into lava, resulting in their death. Typically, farms utilizing boats simply place the boat in the center, and any nearby mobs within an 8-block radius automatically board it. However, Guardians are large, and this doesn't work for them. If you try spawning a guardian right next to the boat using a spawn egg, you'll notice it emerges not from the side of the boat, but from above. For a mob to board a boat, it needs to touch the side of the boat's hitbox. Therefore, to accommodate the large size of the guardian, we need to push the boat to one side to create space.
When the guardian dies, its items are absorbed by the hopper cart and launched downwards. This farm utilizes two overlapping boats to increase processing capacity. You might think that stacking three or four boats would make it faster, but that's not the case. Stacking more than two boats doesn't provide much benefit.
Generally, the height of the water pillars (bubble columns) within the ocean monument where guardians spawn is ideally higher. If the height is low, guardians might board the boat sooner, potentially leading to faster processing. However, we currently have a good mob cap, so prioritizing increasing the spawn rate by making the water pillars taller is more important. So, what if we were to build this farm incredibly large? In that case, lowering the height of the water pillars might become beneficial.
The farm's performance is excellent. However, you won't be able to obtain raw cod. Since guardians are killed by lava, the farm only yields cooked cod, which is a drawback.
